Sasangir Sight Seeing :

JUNGLE VISIT - Sasangir is the natural habitat of many rare plants and animals. There are teak trees and a mixture of deciduous trees including sal (Shorea), dhak (Butea frondosa), jamun (Syzigium cumini), acacia, and banyan and thorn forests along the hilly tract. Sasangir also houses some unique species of animals. Besides the Asiatic lion, there are leopards, sambar, chital (spotted deer), nilgai (antelope), chowsingha (four-horned antelope), chinkara (gazelle), wild boar, langur, jackal and hyena. Birds include paradise flycatcher, Bonneli\’s eagle, crested serpent eagle, woodpeckers, back headed cuckoo, pied woodpecker, painted sand grouse, bush quail, flamingos and grey partridges.

NALSAROVAR - Sasangir is flanked by three unique reservoirs, one of which is the Nalsarovar Lake. Nalsarovar is an excellent place to photograph birds in their natural habitat. Birds like the paradise flycatcher, pied woodpecker and back-headed cuckoo, various species of eagles, painted sand grouse, flamingo, partridge, bush quail, parrot, and peacock can be spotted here. There is also a small temple dedicated to Lord Krishna near the Tulsi Shyam springs.
